Robinson, Jancis (1950– )

English wine writer and broadcaster. In 1984 she was the first journalist to become a member of the Institute of Masters of Wine, and in 1986 she was declared Wine Writer of the Year. She has been the Financial Times wine correspondent since 1989, and wrote The Oxford Companion to Wine (1994).

Robinson was born and brought up in Carlisle. Through her writing and broadcasts she seeks to explain the complexities of wine in a practical way to average consumers.
