Rocco and His Brothers

Film released in 1960, directed by Luchino Visconti. It traces the varied fortunes of five brothers of a peasant family who arrive in Milan from the poverty-stricken Italian south.

The film, which was the last Visconti made in the neo-realist style, climaxes in an almost operatic finale.
