Rockledge

Town in Brevard County, east-central Florida; population (1990) 16,000. It is located to the south of Cocoa, on the Indian River lagoon. Its name derives from local coquina (seashell) rock ledges. Its economy relies on tourism, fruit processing, and Cape Canaveral's aerospace industry, but it is chiefly residential.
