Rogers, Kenny (Ray) (1941– )

US popular singer and guitarist. As a country singer, he found wide popularity with the hit ‘Lucille’ 1977 and then produced such hits as ‘Lady’ 1980 and ‘I Don't Need You’ 1981.

He was born in Houston, Texas. While in high school he performed on American Bandstand and in the 1960s and 1970s played in various jazz, folk, and country-rock groups including Kenny Rogers and the First Edition.
