Rogers, Mary Josephine

Rogers, Mary Josephine (1882–1955)

US religious founder. In 1920 she helped found the Maryknoll Sisters, of which she was mother general until 1947, under the name Mother Mary Joseph.

She was born in New York City. A graduate of Smith College in 1905, she volunteered to help the new Maryknoll missionary society in 1912.
