Rogers, Nigel (1935– )

English tenor. He studied at Cambridge and with Gerhard Hüsch in Munich. He has been heard in lieder and in modern music, for example Goehr's Arden must Die (London, 1974), but is best known in Baroque opera, with frequent performances of Monteverdi under Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Gustav Leonhardt (Ulisse in Vienna, Orfeo and Poppea in Amsterdam). His recordings include the Monteverdi Vespers, Florentine intermedi, Dido and Aeneas and Hippolyte et Aricie.
