Roi Arthus, Le

Opera by Chausson (libretto by composer). It was written 1886–95, under the influence of Wagner's Tristan, and was produced at the Théâtre de la Monnaie, Brussels, on 30 November 1903. In the story, Mordred betrays Lancelot's affair with Guinevere to King Arthur. Arthur battles his knight, killing him, and Guinevere strangles herself.
