Rolandi, Gianna (1952– )

US soprano. She studied in New York and made her debut at the City Opera in 1975, as Olympia. From 1979 she appeared at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, as Sophie, Olympia, Stravinsky's Nightingale, and Zerbinetta and from 1981 at the Glyndebourne Festival, as Zerbinetta, Zdenka, Susanna, and Despina (1991). She sang Handel's Cleopatra for the English National Opera ensemble in 1983 and Lucia at San Francisco in 1986. In 1989 she sang in Cimarosa's Gli Orazi e gli Curazi in Rome.
