Romanoff, Michael (c. 1892–1971)

US restaurateur and impostor possibly born in Lithuania. In 1919 he proclaimed himself a Russian prince and lived a glamorous life on credit in Paris and London before opening a celebrity restaurant in Hollywood in 1939, the first of a chain.
