Rominger, Kent Vernon

Rominger, Kent Vernon (1956– )

US astronaut. He logged 1,611 hours in space on his five space shuttle flights. He was crew commander of the Discovery mission in May 1999 that delivered supplies to the International Space Station (ISS); and of the Endeavour mission in April–May 2001 that installed Canadarm 2 on the ISS. He went on to become chief of the Astronaut Office at the Johnson Space Center. Rominger was selected as an astronaut in 1992.
