Rondine, La

    0.02 sec.

Rondine, La

Operetta by Puccini (libretto by G Adami, translated from the German of A M Willner and H Reichert), produced at Monte Carlo on 27 March 1917. It was originally intended to be set to the German words for the Carl Theater in Vienna, but this fell through because Italy was at war with Austria. In the story, Prunier, a poet, convinces Magda of the power of love. She meets Ruggero, who falls in love with her; but she abandons him to return to Rambaldo, leaving him devastated.
