Roosevelt, Kermit (1889–1943)

US explorer and army officer. With his brother, Theodore Roosevelt Jr, he collected rare animals and birds in Turkestan and China for the Field Museum in Chicago (1925, 1928–29).

He was born in Oyster Bay, Long Island, the son of Theodore Roosevelt. He hunted and explored with his father (1909, 1913) and served with both the British aand the US armies during World War I. He formed the Roosevelt Steamship Company in 1920. He died while on intelligence duty with the US Army in Alaska.
