Ros Marba, Antoni (1937– )

Spanish conductor. He studied in Barcelona and made his debut there in 1962. He was principal conductor of the City of Barcelona Orchestra 1967–77, of the Spanish National Orchestra 1978–81, and of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra 1979–86. From 1989 he was music director of the National Theatre at Madrid, where he led the 1992 stage premiere of Gerhard's The Duenna. He undertook concerts throughout Europe, the Americas and the Far East.
