Roseanne

Roseanne (1952– )

US comedian. She starred in and wrote the popular television show Roseanne from 1988. She has also appeared in such films as She-Devil (1989), Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (1994), and Smoke (1995).

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, she moved to Los Angeles in 1985, and became a regular club and television performer before recording and writing The Roseanne Barr Show (1987). She has published the books Roseanne: My Life as a Woman (1989) and My Lives (1994).
