Rosenshein, Neil (1947– )

US tenor. After study in New York he made his debut in 1972 with Florida Opera, as Almaviva. He has sung widely in the USA, including Alfredo at Chicago (1988) and in the first performance of The Aspern Papers by Argento, at Dallas (1988). In 1986 he appeared at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, as Lensky and in 1989 at the Berlioz Festival in Lyon, as Bevenuto Cellini. At the Metropolitan Opera House, New York he has sung Werther, Faust, Alfredo, and Léon in the 1991 first performance of Corigliano's The Ghosts of Versailles. During the 1992 season he performed Berlioz's Faust at Turin and Peter Grimes with the Australian Opera.
