Roslyn

Community in North Hempstead town, on Long Island's North Shore, Nassau County, southeast New York; population (1990) 2,000. It is an upper-middle-class residential suburb of New York City. William Cullen Bryant, the 19th-century poet and editor, lived here, and his home, Cedarmere, still stands. In the early years of the 20th century, Roslyn attracted residents of tremendous wealth; much of the land they owned has been sold to developers. Nearby are the communities of Roslyn Estates, Roslyn Harbor, and Roslyn Heights.

Roslyn

Locality in Abington township, Montgomery County, southeast Pennsylvania. It is located 16 km/10 mi north of Philadelphia, and is chiefly residential.
