Rosselini, Renzo (1908-1982)

Italian composer. He was a pupil of Sallustio, Setacioli, and Molinari. His brother was the film director Roberto Rosselini.

operas Alcassino e Nicoletta (1930), La guerra (1956), Uno squàrdo dal ponte (after A Miller, 1961), and La Reine Morte (1973); ballet La danza di Dassine (1935), (music adapted from Hoggar suite); two oratorios; film music, rhapsodic suite Hoggar, Preludio all' Aminta del Tasso, Canti di marzo and Ditirambo a Dioniso for orchestra; piano trio.
