Rovaniemi
| Capital of Lappi province, northern Finland, and chief town of Finnish Lapland, situated just south of the Arctic Circle; population (2002) 45,800. After World War II the town was rebuilt by the architect Alvar Aalto, who laid out the main streets in the form of a reindeer's antlers. |
