The huge Jurassic cycad, Encephalartos altensteninii (i), arrived in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London, in 1775.
The pollen used was provided by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, who had a Titan flowering at the same time as Eden's.
