| The Royston Cave, a Roman burial place and oratory, was discovered in 1742. It is dug out of the chalk, is 8 m/26 ft high and 5 m/16 ft in diameter, and contains rough figures and coloured reliefs of saints, kings, and queens. Most figures were made at the time of the Crusades (12th and 13th centuries). |
| Therfield Heath, to the southwest of the town, is a rolling heathland of 168 ha/415 acres open to the public, where golf and other games are played. Hunting and coursing take place here. |
