Danish composer and organist. He studied at the Copenhagen Conservatory, and has had commissions from the London Sinfonietta and Ensemble Intercontemporain.

Wind-Drumming for wind quintet and four percussion (1979); two violin concertos (1981, 1991); two string quartets (1971, 1979); Manhattan Abstractions (for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, 1982); Thus Saw Saint Joan for orchestra (1984); Break Dance for piano and ensemble (1984); clarinet concerto (1985); Dramaphonia for piano and orchestra (1987); Nightshade for ensemble (1987); symphony Himmelhoch Jauchzend-zum Tode betrubt (1989); Trapeze (1992) and Zenith (1993) for orchestra; Anima cello concerto (1993).

Vocal and opera

The City in the Sea for contralto and orchestra (1990), The Bells for soprano and chamber ensemble (1993); opera Tycho (after the Danish astronomer who was obliged to replace his nose with a false nose made of silver, 1986).
