Rudnyy

Town in Qostanay oblast (region), northern Kazakhstan, situated on the River Tobol 40 km/25 mi southwest of the city of Qostanay; population (2001 est) 104,900. It is the site of a large iron-ore extraction and processing plant, which supplies the large Magnitogorsk iron and steel complex. The city was founded in 1955.
