Ruggiero, o vero L'eroica gratitudine

    0.04 sec.

Ruggiero, o vero L'eroica gratitudine

Opera by Hasse (libretto by Metastasio), produced at the Teatro Regio Ducal, Milan, on 16 October 1771. It was Hasse's last opera. The story concerns Rogerus, who is imprisoned by the Greeks after a battle and is rescued by Leone, who is now betrothed to Bradamante, Rogerus's beloved. Rogerus reluctantly accepts the situation, preferring suicide to a fight against Leone. But all resolves happily: Rogerus and Bradamante are reunited.
