Ruidoso

Small town in Lincoln County, south-central New Mexico; population (1990) 4,600. It is situated on the Ruidoso (‘noisy’) River, in the Sacramento Mountains. Ruidoso Downs, a well-known horse track, lies to the east of this year-round resort community. Ski Apache is to the northwest, in the Sierra Blanca Mountains. The huge Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation lies to the south.

Ruidoso examines teen suicides RUIDOSO -- Authorities and school officials in the Ruidoso area are helping students deal with what is believed to be a string of teenage suicides.
It also includes biomass utilization grants, like the one that will go to the community of Ruidoso, New Mexico, to process the woody biomass removed through fuel-reduction projects and put it to good use.
