Oilfield straddling the frontier between Iraq and Kuwait. Kuwait's extraction of oil from this field was a contributory factor leading up to the Iraqi invasion of 1991 and the subsequent Gulf War in 1992.

This will focus on development of existing fields, including the oil giants South Rumeila and North Rumeila, West Qurna, Zubair, Missan, Kirkuk and the western Akkas gas field.
