Ryan, T(ubal) Claude (1898-1982)

US aircraft manufacturer. After flying for the Aerial Forest Patrol, in 1922 he formed the flying service that became Ryan Airlines Inc. In 1927 he helped to build Charles Lindbergh's Spirit of St Louis. Ryan formed Ryan Aeronautical in 1933 to build planes, including jet trainers for the military.
