Södertälje

Town in the county of Stockholm, eastern Sweden; population (1995) 82,400. It is a flourishing industrial town just west of the capital, with pharmaceutical, heavy vehicle construction, and engineering plants. Södertälje Canal connects Lake Mälaren with the Baltic.
