Sackman, Nicholas (1950- )

English composer. He studied with Alexander Goehr at Leeds University in England. In 1990 he became a lecturer at Nottingham University. His orchestral work Hawthorn premiered in 1993 at the London Proms.

two string quartets (1979, 1991); Ensembles and Cadenzas for cello and five players (1972); Doubles for two instrumental groups (1978); Time-Piece for brass quintet (1983); Corronach for seven players (1985); A Pair of Wings for three sopranos and ensemble (1973); And the World - A Wonder Waking for mezzo-soprano and eight instruments (1981).
