Saddle River

River flowing through the states of New York and New Jersey, USA; length 40 km/25 mi. It rises in Rockland County, southeastern New York, and flows south through New Jersey to join the Passaic River.

Course

From its small-stream origins, just north of the New Jersey border, it flows through Upper Saddle River, the borough of Saddle River (population (1990) 3,000, in Bergen County), and other communities including Saddle Brook, flowing into the Passaic River opposite Passaic, which then empties into Newark Bay.
