Saftleven

    0.01 sec.

Saftleven

Dutch painters and engravers. Cornelis specialized in low-life genre subjects in the manner of Adriaen Brouwer and the Teniers. His brother Herman was a landscape painter and travelled in northern Germany, executing topographical drawings and paintings which show the influence of Jan van Goyen. Particularly remarkable are his panoramic views of the Rhine which show his ability to suggest immense space.
