Saginaw County| County in central Michigan; area 2,111 sq km/815 sq mi; population (1990) 211,900. Its capital and only large city is Saginaw, where there is considerable manufacturing. The county has traditionally been a source of oil, salt, and coal. Its agriculture is based on dairy products, grain, corn, beans, vegetables, sugar beet, livestock, and poultry. |
| The county is drained by the Tittabawassee, Shiawassee, Flint, and Saginaw rivers. It includes the Shiawassee and Crow Island state game areas, and the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge. |
