Sahr

Town in southern Chad on the Chari River, 510 km/320 mi southeast of Ndjamena; population (1993) 193,800. Cotton is the main agricultural crop. Sahr is traditionally a textile-producing town, but output declined following price undercutting by Nigerian imports.
