St Mary's

Largest of the Isles of Scilly, off the coast of Cornwall, southwest England, 48 km/30 mi from Land's End; population (2001) 1,700. Tourism and the cultivation and export of flowers are important. The island's largest town, Hugh Town, is the capital of the Scilly Isles. A helicopter service runs between the aerodrome on St Mary's and Penzance, Cornwall.

St Mary's

River in Ontario, Canada, and Michigan; length 110 km/70 mi. It connects Lake Superior with Lake Huron, and flows through the twin ports of Sault Sainte Marie in Michigan and Ontario. It forms part of the national border between the USA and Canada.
