Sainton-Dolby, Charlotte (Helen) (1821-1885)

English contralto and composer. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and made her first appearance at a Philharmonic concert there in 1842. In 1845 Mendelssohn invited her to sing with Jenny Lind at Leipzig, and later she had success in France and Holland. In 1860 she married Prosper Sainton.
