Salazar, Adolfo (1890-1958)

Spanish musicologist and composer. He edited the Revista Musical Hispano-Americano 1914-18 and was music critic to El Sol in Madrid 1918-36. His books include studies of modern music, Spanish music, symphonies, and ballet.

Salazar studied with Bartolomeo Pérez Casas (1873-1956) and Manuel de Falla, also Maurice Ravel in Paris. After the Spanish Civil War he emigrated to Buenos Aires, then lived in Mexico after 1939.
