| Finnish expressionist painter. Inspired by fauvism on visits to France 1909 and 1914, he created visionary works relating partly to his childhood experiences of religion. He also painted Finnish landscape and peasant life, such as Washerwoman 1911 (Ateneum, Helsinki). |
