Samaritan Pentateuch

Revised version of the first five books of the Bible in use among the Samaritans. It is written in the Samaritan alphabet, a descendant of early Hebrew writing. The codex of the Samaritan Pentateuch, which is preserved in the Samaritan synagogue in Nablus, Palestine, is considered by the Samaritans to be the original Pentateuch of Moses, but it is certainly not earlier than the 12th century.

The Samaritans regard only these first five books of the Bible as authentic.

Following this view, the Samaritan Pentateuch systematically changes the Deuteronomic statements regarding "the place that the Lord your God will choose": in place of the Masoretic text "will choose" [Greek Text Omitted] the Samaritans have "has chosen" [Greek Text Omitted].
