Samazeuilh, Gustave (Marie Victor Fernand) (1877–1967)

French composer and critic. He was a pupil of Ernest Chausson and, after his master's death, of Vincent d'Indy and Paul Abraham Dukas at the Schola Cantorum. His writings include studies of Rameau and Dukas, translations of Wagner's Tristan and Schumann's Genoveva, and songs by Wagner and Liszt. He also made piano arrangements of modern French music.
