Sanaga

Chief river in Cameroon; length 500 km/311 mi. It flows from the Adamaoua Massif to the Gulf of Guinea opposite the island of Bioko. A dam at Edea provides hydroelectricity for much of Cameroon and supplies a local aluminium smelter.
