Sand Springs

City in northeastern Oklahoma, 16 km/10 mi west of Tulsa; population (1990) 15,300. This suburb has numerous oil and natural gas wells. Its many products include textiles, glass, fibreglass, plastics, oilfield equipment, building materials, and processed foods.
