Sandberger, Adolf (1864–1943)

German musicologist and composer. He was chief editor of the incomplete edition of Lassus and the Denkmäler der Tonkunst in Bayern, and his books include studies of the Bavarian court chapel under Lassus, of Cornelius.

He studied in a number of European centres and in 1894 became lecturer in music at Munich University and was professor there 1900–29, being at the same time curator of the music department of the State Library.
