Sandow, Eugene

    0.03 sec.

Sandow, Eugene (1867–1925)

German professional strong man and exponent of physical culture. He exhibited in the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. A man of broad mind and thoughtful views, he advocated moderation in all methods of health. His system of movements, and his applications of acquired muscular power to weight-lifting, did much to create the cult of physical culture all over the world, and especially in England, where he had a successful school. Sandow was born at Konigsberg, Germany.
