Sandusky County

County in northern Ohio, bounded to the northeast by Sandusky Bay (Lake Erie); area 1,059 sq km/409 sq mi; population (1990) 62,000. Its capital and largest city is Fremont. Agriculture includes fruit, grain, sugar beet, and market gardening. Limestone is quarried, and there is some manufacturing at Clyde and Fremont.

The county is crossed by the Portage and Sandusky rivers.
