Santa Cruz (or Santa Cruz Wilson), Domingo (1899–1987)

Chilean composer, teacher, and critic. He studied at Santiago de Chile and Madrid. In 1918 he founded a Bach Society at Santiago and in 1932 became dean of the Fine Arts Department at the University of Chile and rector of the university from 1948 to 1951.

Works

Orchestral

four symphonies (1948–69); five Piezas brevas for string orchestra.

Chamber

three string quartets; three violin and piano pieces; piano works; songs.
