Saratoga

City in west-central California, in the eastern foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, 13 km/8 mi southwest of San Jose; population (1990) 28,100. It is a winery and orchard centre, and home to West Valley College (1963). The city is noted for a number of gardens, including those at Villa Montalva (1912).

Saratoga

Town in south-central Wyoming, on the North Platte River, 52 km/32 mi southeast of Rawlins; population (1990) 2,000. Timber is milled and furniture manufactured here. Saratoga Hot Springs, a reputedly medicinal natural hot spring with bathing facilities, is in the town.
