Any of various dipterous flies of the family Sarcophagidae whose larvae are parasitic in living animal tissue or feed on carrion.
The absence of the families Calliphoridae and Sarcophagidae at the Kiuic site and their presence at the Tabi site were, most likely, the results of the immediate environments in which the Malaise traps were set and most sweep netting occurred.
Adult Calliphoridae, Hippoboscidae, Muscidae, and Sarcophagidae were collected from forests, zoos, ranches, and farms (Table).
