Tasmanian devilCarnivorous marsupial Sarcophilus harrisii, in the same family (Dasyuridae) as native ‘cats’. It is about 65 cm/2.1 ft long with a 25 cm/10 in bushy tail. It has a large head, strong teeth, and is blackish with white patches on the chest and hind parts. It is nocturnal, carnivorous, and can be ferocious when cornered. It has recently become extinct in Australia and survives only in remote parts of Tasmania. How to thank TFD for its existence?
