Sarpy County

County in east-central Nebraska, bounded to the east by the Missouri River (the Iowa border) and to the south by the Platte River, which turns north at South Bend and bisects the county; area 616 sq km/238 sq mi; population (1990) 102,600. Its capital is Papillion. Part of the northeast is in the Omaha area, and contains suburban development. The rest of the region produces grain, livestock, fruit, poultry, and dairy goods.

Offut Air Force Base, just outside Bellevue, has contributed significantly to the county's economy.
