Sassoferrato, Giovanni Battista Salvi

    0.01 sec.

Sassoferrato, Giovanni Battista Salvi (1605–1685)

Italian painter. He painted Raphaelesque Madonnas, so much in the style of an earlier period that he was at one time mistakenly referred to as an artist of the 16th century.

The son and pupil of Torquinio Salvi, he later studied with the baroque painter Domenichino.
