Saul og David

Opera in four acts by Carl August Nielsen. It was composed 1898–1901 and first produced and conducted by Nielsen in Copenhagen at the Royal Theatre on 28 November 1902. When David defeats Goliath, Saul becomes jealous and outlaws him. David runs away with Michal, Saul's daughter. Saul commits suicide after losing a battle against the Philistines, and David becomes king.
